Assistant Accountant / Accountant

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting and financial records.
  • Handle day-to-day accounting transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Prepare and process invoices, payments, receipts, and other financial documents.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and regular reconciliation of accounts.
  • Monitor and maintain records of income, expenses, purchases, and other financial transactions.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records.
  • Assist with payroll-related accounting activities and statutory payments when required.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and payables and follow up on pending payments when necessary.
  • Assist with budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and expense tracking.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing the required financial records and documentation.
  • Ensure accounting transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, clients, vendors, and other relevant parties regarding financial and payment related matters.
  • Perform other accounting and finance related duties assigned by the management.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A professional qualification or part qualification in ACCA / CA / CMA will be an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.
  • Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Tally, or similar accounting/ERP systems.
  • Experience in the IT/software industry is an added advantage.
