Assurance - Core Audit Manager

Roles & Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities

 As a manager, you will leverage your project and relationship management to support the management with a sizeable portfolio of clients. In addition, you will also support the operational aspects of engagement management, such as engagement finances, resource management, and elements of risk management. You will act as a mentor to the junior staff, managing and coaching them, thereby playing a key role in the development of the team. You will be instrumental in building strong relationships with engagement team and clients, identifying areas where GDS Assurance can improve quality, and increase the scope of work.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key engagement stakeholders, including engagement managers and project managers
  • Develop a solid understanding of the organization’s risk‑management procedures and ensure they are consistently applied across all team deliverables
  • Collaborate closely with engagement managers to smoothly transition new engagements and services while maintaining high service quality
  • Proactively manage workflow by coordinating with engagement teams, allocating resources effectively, and monitoring performance against agreed standards
  • Demonstrate professionalism, competence, and clear communication when interacting with engagement teams and internal stakeholders
  • Set clear expectations regarding the value and outcomes to be delivered to engagement teams and ultimately to clients
  • Identify opportunities to standardize, streamline, and optimize assurance processes across a diverse client portfolio
  • Support people development by encouraging team members to contribute actively and grow within the team
  • Lead by example and delegate responsibilities effectively
  • Conduct timely performance reviews and provide constructive feedback, coaching, and training
  • Leverage technology to continuously learn, share knowledge, and enhance service delivery
  • Contribute to both technical and soft‑skills training initiatives to strengthen overall team capability
  • Lead a team of Assistant Managers, Seniors, and Associates, ensuring high‑quality work is delivered on time, within budget, and in line with established methodology

Qualifications Required

  • Qualified CA / ACCA / CPA with 7+ years of experience
  • Strong knowledge of international accounting and auditing standards
  • Proven project‑management, leadership, coaching, counselling, and supervisory skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
