Product Owner - Fleet & Maintenance

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Define and own the Fleet and Maintenance product vision, roadmap, and backlog
  • Translate operational and business requirements into product features and user stories
  • Prioritize backlog items based on business value, risk, and operational impact
  • Collaborate with fleet operations, maintenance teams, and technical teams
  • Design and evolve modules related to fleet management, asset management, preventive maintenance, work orders, and spare parts
  • Ensure alignment with operational standards, safety requirements, and compliance policies
  • Conduct requirement workshops and stakeholder reviews
  • Validate functional designs and acceptance criteria
  • Support sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release planning
  • Ensure integration with ERP, IoT, telematics, and asset management systems
  • Monitor product performance, system usage, and operational KPIs
  • Manage dependencies, risks, and scope across Fleet and Maintenance initiatives
  • Support UAT, rollout, and change management activities
  • Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and digital transformation
  • Maintain product documentation including roadmaps, user stories, and functional specifications

 

Qualifications, Experience & Professional Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, IT, or related field
  • Master’s degree (MBA, MIS, or related) – preferred
  • Agile certifications such as PSPO, PSM, SAFe, or equivalent – preferred
  • Asset management or maintenance certifications – advantageous
  • Product management or business analysis certifications – advantageous
  • Experience with Fleet, Maintenance, EAM, or CMMS systems – preferred
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Product Management, Operations Systems, or related roles
